Welcome to the Spring 2021 semester! This semester we'll be doing things a little bit differently. We will have instructional meetings every other week on topics like digital art, color theory, sketching techniques, and more! At those meetings, we'll also talk about the art challenge for the week. In the following meeting, we will go over your challenge submissions near the end of the meeting. You are not required to present your submission but please share it on the Discord! After a completing a certain number of challenges and attending a number of instructional meetings, you will get to choose a prize. A more in depth description of the prize system and the full meeting and event schedule is on our website under the Events tab.

Feel free to contact us with any questions! We can't wait to make some art and get to know everyone!

The College of Computing is having an Org Fair and a Welcome Back Party! We will be there at a booth, showing off artwork, and our club, so come hang out with us! There will be ice cream, and other incredible booths from all of the CoC clubs. It's a really neat opportunity to check out all that the CoC has to offer!

The officers of GOURD are hoping that many incoming freshmen come to this fair and find something that they can be passionate about. We will be telling everyone that comes to our booth about how our weekly meetings are a fun place to de-stress from school, and try something new. Anyone can come, no art experience is required, and there will be snacks available... yummy :) We will see you at next week at our first weekly meeting!

We have sent information to our club coordinator in the College of Computing, so incoming CS and CM students will be aware of GOURD and able to get in touch with us through email and Facebook. New students are the future of the club, and we hope to expand our reach this year by promoting our events and emphasizing the welcoming atmosphere of our club.
